The Serbian proverb, “be humble for you are made of earth, be noble for you are made of stars,” is shaping the theme for our 2011 Winter Concert. This concert features “We Are . . . ” by Ysaye M. Barnwell, “Firework” by Katy Perry, Melissa Etheridge’s “Heaven On Earth,” and a few classic winter favorites, like The Nutcracker’s “Russian Dance” and “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.” Heaven and Earth will also include: “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings, “On A Cold Winter’s Night” by Douglas E. Wagner, “A Prayer for Peace” by Paula Foley Tillen and text by Thich Nhat Hanh, “Beautiful December” by Amy F. Bernon, “Mister Santa” by Pat Ballard, and a a Carol King Medley that our very own Artistic Director, Chris Allen, composed especially for the Chorus.
